Trying to change my password on my Spotify Premium Account

So, I'm trying to change my password on my Spotifiy Premium account and it gives me an error saying 'Another account is already registered with this email address.'. The email address is mine, and the only other account I can think of would be the when they asked me to link my facebook. Anyways, I need some help resolving this issue because I don't trust my old password anymore.

Hi , I also wanna change my password but can't ... Can you please delete my facebook account too ?! 🙂 Hope that'll work !

I've deleted a duplicate account that existed on the system for you, any better now?

From what I can see, you have a duplicate account that was created via Facebook - though it is now disconnected. I have now deleted this.

Ah.. Right.. I'm trying to change my email address but it says: "Another account is already registered with this email address." But I don't have another account and trying to reset the password for the new address gives nothing, no feedback on if it succeeded or failed.. Sorry for the thread stealing..

Hi Kommandoran - I believe you're having this issue because you've got two accounts on our system.

 

One is linked to your original Spotify account while the other is linked to Facebook. These accounts linked to Facebook can't request password changes from Spotify, only FB.

I have changed my password on www.spotify.com. I can log in and out with that password on the homepage, but it does not work on my mobile devices, there only the old password seems to work, but i never get online.

Hixx - This sounds a little strange. Could you try a clean reinstall on your mobile device, then use the username 'hixx' and that new password to log in.

Now it works.

A note: I could log in with my old password until I logged in with my new. Hours after i changed on the webpage.

I was offline but did access the playlists and everything. Now after logging in with the new password, i am not able to log in with the old any longer.

I have the exact problem and  i need help with that, please.

Ive solved it.

Hey, looks like I've got the same problem (cannot udpate password because of "Another account is already registered with this email address.") because my former (deleted) Facebook account shared the same email.

 

Could you please remove the duplicate?

Hi ddeville - No problem. It seems you previously made an account via your Facebook as well. That's all sorted now--please give that reset another go.
