Unwanted and Unrequested Playlist Subscriptions

I keep getting emails saying "so and so added a track to their playlist" with this message at the end "You are receiving this email because you are subscribed to this playlist". But I have NEVER subscribed for this (filtr, Billboard hot 100, Topsify USA Top 40),  or any other playlist. What is the deal? and how do I unsubscribe? I went to these playlists, but it says I'm not following them, so why am I getting email notifications!

I too got these emails for a while. I believe it was due to searches for artists included in playlists or for artists themselves. The other thing I would check is if you have two different user names, one registered to your facebook account and just a spotify user account. You could be recieving e-mail notifications for both.

Some of these issues are caused when you have two accounts, there are some instructions to deal with that here.

But it's not about notifications, it's about somehow getting subscribed to the playlists that I've never subscribed to.
