My car thing is disconnecting my phone as soon as I try and connect.

My car thing is disconnecting my phone as soon as I try and connect.

My car thing was working (almost) perfectly until about a week later when I noticed it wouldn’t connect until I unplugged it and plugged it back in. This went on for about a month and then my car thing wouldn’t connect at all. It would get stuck on the connecting to my phone page and whenever I went to my settings and tried to connect to it manually, it would automatically disconnect. Just for specification, it would say my phone connected but then immediately disconnect within seconds. Tried factory resetting it to no avail except my car thing kept pulling me back to the app but not connecting. Super annoying. I have an iPhone and I am using the provided cord and adapter.

My car is very new with Bluetooth and I was playing music via Bluetooth.

Hey @31ml24flmkiee4qlerdd ,

Thanks for posting in the Community and welcome.

This type of behavior could be related to some pending updates that the Car thing may have. We'd recommend taking your Car Thing indoors and connecting it to your Wi-Fi network at home to force the update. It would be best if you left the car thing connected for several hours and then checked to see if there was any difference.

On another note, we'd recommend checking if the app on your mobile device is up to date. You can check for any pending updates in the App Store.

I am experiencing this issue as well. I'd like to try your solution but I'm having trouble locating a place in the car thing settings to connect it to wi-fi directly. Can you please provide instructions for this?

Hey @Ezee123,

Just connect it to your mobile device as usual and let it stay online for a while 🙂
