Content Prefrences Not Showing Up

Content Prefrences Not Showing Up

A while back, I turned off Explicit Content, and I didn't want to hear explicit content. Now, I would be fine with it, however, there is no "Content preferences" tab showing up on my profile. I asked a friend on Discord, but no to no avail. Hopefully, this is a bug or just something that I can turn on and off at will.

Hey @shroomies,

Thanks for posting in the Community! We've moved your post to a relevant help board as it fits better here.

I get that you want to manipulate your filters for explicit content. See the guide-steps here in our Support site, as they have details for setting up your content preferences according to the device and platform you're using.

If you're sure your experience is different, than the one described in our article, then please come back to us with some screenshots of the situation on your end. This way we could take a closer look and try to help you further.

Hope you find this useful. Keep us posted if you have any questions.

Hello!  I'm trying to turn off explicit content due to my work environment and there is no option to do so under my settings.  Any thoughts?

Hey there,

This can only be done via the desktop or mobile app by following the steps @Kiril has mentioned.
The setting will then carry over to your Web Player 🙂
Hope this helps!

@Vasil, thank you for the response.  I checked the app store and didn't see a desktop app for Mac?  There are a few in the list if I scroll down named "[fill in the blank] for Spotify", but no actual Spotify app.

Thanks for getting back @LPax11!

Currently, the Spotify app on Mac is unavailable from the App Store there, but can instead be downloaded directly from our website - https://www.spotify.com/download/other/.

Thank you!  Downloading directly from the website worked.  I appreciate the help!

When I click my profile picture, and click settings, I can't see the option to turn off or on explicit content. I've done it before, and I'm trying to turn on explicit content. I just can't see the option to. I even searched it up in settings, and there are no results. All the settings say are: Account, Language, Your Library, Display, and Social. There is no option for explicit content on/off button.

Hey @developer11,

My explicit songs have been greyed, and I did not do anything to them. I tried following the steps from everywhere, but I don't see the toggle to turn it on or off.
