Different songs in different countries

Solved!

Different songs in different countries

Can someone answer me this? How come for certain artsits there are songs that are only available in other countries? e.g. Ruelle and places like America getting 'This is the Hunt'? along with the Shadowhunters soundtrack (these are the only ones I can think of at the moment)

Thanks!

A very frustrated music fan

Hey @LMPOTORENT

The availability of music on Spotify is up to the artist and their music label.

Spotify wants all the world's music, and they're working hard on making this happen for you. However sometimes agreements can't be reached with the artist or label or a change may happen in music ownership. Sometimes the music is only available in certain countries, while access is blocked to others. The artist/record label chooses which countries the music is available in. Sometimes the album or song will be unavailable temporary, and come back again later.

The songs/albums will still be shown in your playlists so you can keep track of them, but they will be greyed out and unplayable. Make sure to go in settings and check for the setting that shows unavailable songs.

ya this is a big downfall. The fact that a european get a song on their spotify and I don't is absurd. I've been a customer for a while and its definitely one of the best music subscriptions available out there but just make it universal. Actually no real good reason it isnt.

What Matt is saying is that it's not Spotify's call. It depends on the contractual agreements between the artist, label and distributor. Different distributors are often in the US and Europe. They decide, but it's unsual that one or the other would NOT make it available on Spotify.
