Missing Smart Shuffle Option on Spotify Premium

Hello everyone,

I'm reaching out here as a loyal Spotify Premium member, and I've encountered an issue with the Smart Shuffle option on all my devices. Despite being a Premium subscriber, I've noticed that the Smart Shuffle feature is missing from my devices -  Android phone, Android tablet, computer.

Has anyone else experienced a similar problem? If so, have you found a solution? I'd also appreciate any insights or suggestions from the community. Additionally, if any Spotify representatives are present, I kindly request your guidance on this matter.

Thanks for the post.

 

Smart Shuffle should be available from the Shuffle button. You simply need to click it again for the icon to change. Currently Shuffle has 3 stages:

Grayed out - the shuffle is off.

Green - regular shuffle is turned on.

Green with a star - Smart shuffle is turned on.

 

Let us know if this works for you, and if not tell us what happens when you press the shuffle button multiple times.

I have a premium plan, and still don't have (unlike before) Smart Shuffle state of shufle button, but have only 2 states - on/off

For me is the same.
This is why I open this thread.

Thanks for your replies in this thread. 

 

Currently, Smart Shuffle is not available on computers or the Web Player. However, it is on mobile devices. If you don't see it, make sure your app is up-to-date. If it is, you can try reinstalling the app with these steps. No worries, you won't lose any content by doing it. You'll just need to download your offline music again. 

 

If this doesn't help, send over the make/model and OS of the device along with the Spotify version you are currently running.

Still don't working. I am amazed how you can't manage this problem....

Note that Smart Shuffle is only available for playlists created by you. Can you confirm you're not seeing it there?

I would say that for each platform this Smart shuffle works different and it's not straight forward for people to understand it.
As i started to use it on my PC via Spotify app, i could smart shuffle all non-Spotify playlists, but then wanted same shuffling on iOS, but nothing was happening on same playlists from my iPhone.
Till i read comment from @MihailY - "Note that Smart Shuffle is only available for playlists created by you...."
Each platform, different user journeys...

Similar to the OP, smart shuffle worked on all my devices until recently.  Currently, smart shuffle is available in all of my playlists through the Windows Desktop Spotify App. However, on my Pixel 8 (Android), with Spotify reinstalled, does not have smart shuffle available.  It simply has shuffle on, and shuffle off.   How do we fix this?

Same problem with the android app. Suddenly the feature is missing (on my own playlists).

Thanks for posting here!

 

Keep in mind that the Smart Shuffle function is still being rolled out for all plans and markets and if you don't see it now, it may be available for you in the future. Don't forget to keep the app updated to the newest version in the meantime.

I just rebooted and now smart shuffle is missing from my desktop app. It was there and working awesome prior to the reboot. Now my shuffle button only has 2 states.

Update, I just closed Spotify app and reopened it and now smart-shuffle is working again.

I cannot access smart shuffle any longer. I have tried all fixes with the exception of completely starting over. I shouldn't have to, it's time consuming. Is there any other way, I pay to have this feature.

hello there,

i have been having the same problem. I created a new spotify account for the family abo. Since using it, i have no shuffle icon on playlists of others and no smart shuffle on my own. I have been looking for a solution but there doesn’t seem to be one in the internet. Please help me fix this problem, since I am paying for those exact features.
