My Question or Issue

When I search for the artist "stagediver", none of the "artist" results are the artist I am looking for. I have to search by the song name to find the correct artist. Search should return all artists with the name "stagediver". Obviously.

None of these are who I am searching for:

This is who I am searching for:

What am I doing wrong?

Not sure why, but recently, search results are entirely useless. Simply not returning the most likely option. I have noticed this for many songs. For example, searching “just pretend bad omens”, “just pretend”, or “just pretend bad” does NOT return you the song, titled “Just Pretend” by “Bad Omens”. It will sooner lyrics match the live version of the song then actually return the song. But searching “just pretend b” will return the correct result. This is dumb. Please remedy

Hey there @marm0lade!

Thanks for reaching out.

We had a look, and it seems the artist you’re searching for is quite new on Spotify. Search results are influenced by popularity, so newer artist profiles might not always appear right away when searching by name.

If it’s an artist you enjoy, you can still find them by searching for their songs directly, and you can also share their profile with friends — the more followers and plays they get, the easier it will be for their name to show up in search results over time.

Hope this clears things up! Let me know if you have questions.

Ok Mateus , Thanks for the explanation, but this is weird. The popularity or any other factor should not affect the search results. That's simply stupid. I know it's not your fault and I don't want to be rude; but this is database 101. If I search for an album, artist or song, the minimum I would expect is to know if this occurrence exists. How the search result will be classified is another issue. But If the artist, song or Album is at Spotify database. As a customer, I need to know. Because I could just leave and go to another place if I can't find what I want in spotify. Don't know why they did that. I will posting another issue very similar to this. Spotify has to be fixed. Asap.  Very serious issue.
