Suspicious Playlist

Solved!

Suspicious Playlist

Plan: Free

Country: Brazil
Operating System: Windows 10

Hello,
I had a song added to a playlist called 'House Music' by the profile 'Artister.io' without my consent. Researching a bit I found the playlist to be somewhat suspicious, according to the site "https://artister.io" this profile charges to have music added to their playlists, but I did not pay to have my music added to any of their playlists. I wonder how to proceed in this case, cause I don't want to have my artist profile related to any playlists that use bots or something like that.

Thank you all 🙂

I have also just found out I ended up in one of wavr.ai playlists
I cannot find the playlist on sporify for some reason, but it is in my spotify for artists.

is there something we should to to avoid problems or can I just ignore it?

Thank you
Cee

The**bleep** is of again with new profile and new playlist!!

botify is taking over

I once tried to message them on Instagram. I told them to remove my track from the playlist immediately. After few hours they removed it, but it went only 30 minutes and they added it back again. They also blocked me on Instagram. If someone comment on their Instagram posts that their playlists is not legit, they remove the comments and block them.

Hey @DieSystemOfficial,

Thanks for the post.

We've passed the data to the right team so they can check it out.

Hope this helps,

Cheers!

Seems like no one has done anything to take down the playlist. I can see from Spotify for Artists that streams are on full speed again. I don't understand what is the problem to take it down. Only by visiting their homepage says everything that they use bots and sells streams. Stats are getting **bleep**ed up and gives a negative picture of the artists who ends up on their fake playlists.

Hey all I've noticed the follower counts on most of the playlists linked here dropped dramatically, and that the user doesn't currently have a public playlist - thanks Spotify.

WAVR.AI haven't had any public playlists for few days now. Still bots are streaming through the last playlist. Today's stats update gave 55 streams from the WAVR playlist. Hopefully Spotify would remove it totally from the system. I have also noticed that if your distributor is DistroKid, and you attend the DistroKid Wheel of Playlist. It's there from this creep WAVR.AI is picking the tracks to their playlists.

This has happened to me recently, stats went up 100+ in one day, then 2000+ in another - all from Germany.

Okay same thing happened to me just logged in and saw I got added to a WAVR.AI weekly discover (completely unauthorized) and it jumped up 50 streams so far all from Finland.

Just messaged Spotify For Artists to get this removed ASAP.

As someone else mentioned I did put my song on the Distrokid Wheel Of Playlist a few days ago, not sure if that had anything to do with it, but def not doing that again.

Anyone successfully get themselves removed from this playlist? Seems totally illegitimate.

@skaushal There is only two ways to get off from it, report it to Spotify and not attend the Wheel of Playlist. Another way is to not spin the wheel when you get bumped from the playlist and also unsubscribe from all DistroKid playlists. The next time WAVR.AI is updating the playlist you will not be on it anymore.

@DieSystemOfficial ah okay thanks for the info!

so sad that people like this exist in the world exploiting honest indie musicians to make a buck. hard enough as is to build a following. hope this doesn't happen again, def annoying to have it show up on my profile cause I want nothing to do with it

Also looks like this WAVR.AI scammer is still active with multiple user profiles using the same name..

Apparently... they just keep recreating new users everytime they get banned/blocked? I also messaged them on instagram and asked to be removed from their playlists and they blocked me immediately.

Even though I'm seemingly no longer on their playlist it still occupies the top spot on my "Discovered On" which is really upsetting since I just launched a new artist last week that's 100% legitimate and its annoying to have this bot associated with my account when I had nothing to do with it.

Hopefully they can ban this person for good.

Same issue, one of my song got added on that wavr.ai playlist without my knowledge or consent. No email no notice, nothing.

But now it nicely shows up on my profile "discovered on".
Nice way to taint an artist image.  And there's nothing we can do about it, since any of these bot playlist could add anyone.
But in turn it makes it look like artists are USING these streams. 😞 😞 😞

I guess they add as much random song as possible, so they appear on this discovered on image, and use that and their "free" placement to lure people to their website to sell their stupid fake streams.
Support asks me to provide screenshots of emails sent by the playlister, but since there was never any communication...
I'd rather have low views than fake views.

Same thing happened to me. My last couple songs had odd traffic, then this most recent release is when i got curious and discovered wavr.ai

Im very confused by this and really hope it doesnt hurt mt profile.

Hi, our song was just added to this wavr.ai playlist as well. I have reported it to the support team and have been told there is nothing they can do to remove individual playlists. however this is clearly fraudulent, there shouldn't be a question as to whether Spotify should ban it, especially after it seems like it's been reported multiple times.

@Spotify can you please ban that account ASAP today?

Our band also got added to a playlist from WAVR.AI. Being new to Spotify at first we were excited to get added to something that seemed like a large playlist, but we didn't know how we got added. Once we researched it, it seemed super sketchy. We've reported it now to Spotify through support because we don't want it hurting our account in any way. Glad to have found this post, but wish there were easier ways to get removed from sketchy playlists.

I had this exact same experience.  I woke up yesterday and noticed an anomaly in my analytics and saw that Artister.io added my song "Ravenous" from my band Ravenwood to their "NEW EDM playlist.  I did NOT submit anything to them nor use their service and honestly I have no idea how they found me.  I never use bot services and am very afraid of having my music removed and all my hard work be punished for what someone else did.

Name: Artister.io

Profile: https://open.spotify.com/user/31xfda2btn4auchgeh6vvgkjh2zq

Band and song that was unauthorized placed on their playlist: Ravenwood "Ravenous"

I contacted Spotify Artist support as soon as I saw it and my label contacted the playlisted on their website and they demanded that the song be removed from their playlist immediately.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hey @JVJR2,

Thanks for posting.

We can't find the mentioned song in the playlist. It looks like it has been removed. Could you confirm?

Did you sort the issue out with our artist support and your label?

Let us know how that went,

Cheers!

Hey Dian,

Thank you for the reply.  Greatly appreciated.  Yes they did remove it. I had personally contacted the playlist owner and my label did as well and demanded that the song be taken down immediately.  On their instagram page they have a lot of artists demanding their songs be taken down as well I have a couple screen shots of that. They actually responded and said they took it down.  One thing I discovered is they seem to change out all the songs and shuffle playlists constantly.  I don't know what the turn around time is exactly.

I have no idea who these people are & never submitted or contacted them and they had absolutely no authorization to do what they did.  I did contact Spotify Artist Support, I gave them the playlist in question, explained the spike in my stream and listener count which led me to immediately contact them because it seemed very suspicious, and gave them the name of my song so they were aware of what's going on.  They seemed very helpful and glad I contacted them.  I'm just worried that due to the actions of this playlist owner that my song could be removed.  That is why I contacted support right away. I am just really stressed over this whole thing.  I never use any pay for streams or anything like that. I just hope I have done everything I could to help this situation.  I know many people in this thread have dealt with this as well.  Thank you again for checking on it.
