Suspicious Playlist

Solved!

Suspicious Playlist

Plan: Free

Country: Brazil
Operating System: Windows 10

Hello,
I had a song added to a playlist called 'House Music' by the profile 'Artister.io' without my consent. Researching a bit I found the playlist to be somewhat suspicious, according to the site "https://artister.io" this profile charges to have music added to their playlists, but I did not pay to have my music added to any of their playlists. I wonder how to proceed in this case, cause I don't want to have my artist profile related to any playlists that use bots or something like that.

Thank you all 🙂

Hello, my problem is exactly the same as others, i have been added on this playlist by ARTISTER.IO

https://open.spotify.com/playlist/5dortwOd1M2x5np2qTlKkQ

and also this playlist which has exactly the same name and image but not the same content or amount of likes

https://open.spotify.com/playlist/0LQVHI7TIu4HGryTPjzeJJ

I don't understand how they found me especially that i am a french artist so i find it strange to be picked on an international playlist.

As @jjmillcakes i am looking at my stats being so unreal and this may affect how my little audience looks at all this... And I don't want to be flagged for something i can't control..

My artist profile and the concerned music (i have only 1 release anyway) :
https://open.spotify.com/artist/6ZUwpG1dCgSRPU4UA08hMm
https://open.spotify.com/album/0tmEiH3G1I5OTNGMEyElBq

I hope we can solve this together thank you for your efforts 🙂

Cheers

Hey! I also was added to this playlist, it looks very funny and I never paid em or anything. Hope they take it down soon, it is ruining everyone on that list.

Also happening to me. My song is “the Lion” by Embleton is about 8-9 songs down. Been on there for about a week and it appears they created a new playlist and account to start the cycle over again to avoid getting shut down a few days ago. I also did not pay for this service. At first I was surprised and stoked, so I reached out to say thanks to them. Then after some more digging I found this thread. My stats are all out of whack now too. Total bummer!

Hi all,

Unfortunately I'm here to reiterate what others have stated. My latest single was added to the Pop Carousel playlist, and it is generating suspicious play/saves/followers data.

https://open.spotify.com/playlist/6HBPG131Mg0aWKcZVON5h7?si=ecef00c8209b4eba

I contacted Artist Support as suggested, but they said that the Content team is responsible for this. If possible, could the moderators here confirm that the Content team is looped in? Clearly there are a number of independent artists that are negatively impacted by this playlister and their attempts to artificially increase stream counts.

Sincerely,

Brandon

I was also added to their "Chill Nights" playlist. I did not submit music to them nor did I pay them for promotion. I hope Spotify can get to the bottom of this to see if it is legit. Here is a link.

Hi all,

we have a similar problem. We've also been added to their "Chill Night" playlist. Definitely don't want to be associated with any botted playlist. We already contacted the artists support - is there anything else we can do?

It's the track "Everything in Motion" by Rhode & Brown in this playlist.

Thanks in advance and all the best!

Hi guys,

so I got in contact with the artists support. Not 100% sure if that really helped, though. They said the only thing we can do is the follwing:

"If you believe a playlist infringes on your copyright, trademark, personal image, or identity, you can submit a claim by following these steps:

  1. Click/tap the 3 dots near the title of the playlist in question
  2. Select Report (on desktop) or Report Abuse (on mobile)
  3. Choose the appropriate topic
  4. Complete the form and click/tap Submit"

I just did that and hope it works/helps without harming the artists who got on these playlist without their consent.

Best

Hi there,

we have the same problem. The playlist seemed suspicious to us and I now came across this thread via google.

Our track

https://open.spotify.com/track/5zoU9m2Xg2fYgVzbuiqdzP?si=66f8b9c6d99b48a1

has been added to the "Sheeran's Choice" playlist by artister.io

https://open.spotify.com/playlist/6uZAI8jtxnAq9j8fQigHoy?si=ZzviRJQ_RNORPwP1pZUaEQ

We didn't submit music to them nor did we pay them for promotion. Definitely do not want to be associated with any clickbot playlist and don't want any bot clicks!

Is there anything else we can do?

Hi @Klischée,

Thanks for the post.

We've passed this info on to the team who are investigating the issue.

We'll let you know in this thread as soon as we have more information.

I too have been added to the Chill playlist but now the playlist has had its name changed, my track is the last on the list RGB by Connective Zone.  The playlist is https://open.spotify.com/playlist/3KXoPt7iyi5hK5dtS3K6Qw

I have not asked or paid for this to be included, is there a way of taking me off it?

Hey @Connectivezone1

Thanks for reaching out about this here in the Community.

This is something for our Artist Support team to help with. You can get in touch with them here.

Hope it gets sorted out soon. If you need a hand with anything else, we're always a post away.

Cheers!

“Music acts like a magic key, to which the most tightly closed heart opens.”– Maria von Trapp

My bands music has been placed in a playlist created by Artister.io.  Again we didn't pay or ask to be placed in their playlist. Could Spotify say either way whether being playlisted by these people will affect our organic listener growth on Spotify? I seem to get rather amibiguous answers from artist support.

My band has song added to one of their playlists below

https://open.spotify.com/playlist/2l2oPjXCNJdP7eWwcYD242?si=da91c753fe964455

How are you able to follower profiles of the playlist. I suspect these playlists are dodgy but would like to see the followers if possible?

C someone help please?

Hi there @zebodi,

Thank you for your reply in this thread.

Can you confirm if you contacted out Customer support or the support for Spotify for artists?

Keep us posted.

Yes I have done. I wanted to get a straight answer as to whether this playlist is damaging to artists' (us) longterm listener growth on the platform. The answers feel 'scripted' and not really answering my question directly. They say that listener numbers and royalties will be adjusted and that they 'reserve the right to remove manipulated content from the platform'. Fair enough on the 1st two but removing a song because it has been added to a dodgy playlist beyond the artists control is not fair.
Can you get back to me and confirm if our music needs to be removed from artister.io playlists?
