local files stream count

Are local files that have been synced to spotify and linked to the original song count as one stream when played? 

For instance, the song "be my forever" by Christina Perri is unavailable in spotify malaysia., but because the song is in my local files, I'm able to play it. Does this count as a stream?

Hi Angularangst! The plays will still get logged as long as you are connected to the internet, the data will send to spotify and the streams will count, so the answer is yes 🙂
