System logout issue with Ubuntu 14.04

Solved!

System logout issue with Ubuntu 14.04

Hey,

  1. MSI Ge60-2OE laptop, with Ubuntu 14.04
  2. Type of Spotify account you have (Free/ Premium): Premium
  3. The app version of Spotify you’re using: The newest, installed yesterday
  4. Brief description of the issue: while trying to logout of system account when Spotify is running in the background, the app doesn't turn off and the GUI just blocks itself. To resolve I have to press ALT+CTRL+F4 and there type in the "pkill spotify" command, after which the app closes and then I get logged out of my system account ( sorry for the probably wrong terminology, I'm a newbie in Linux ).
  5. Steps to reproduce the issue: Start Spotify- CTRL+ALT+DELETE- LOGOUT

Hey @Amek,

Welcome to Spotify Community.

There are few versions of Spotify out there. Did you install the package via apt-get?

If so, you can try the latest non-stable version and see if the issue persists?

You  can download it here.
