[solved] Spotify 0.9.4 for 64-bit Linux?

[solved] Spotify 0.9.4 for 64-bit Linux?

Hi I am looking for the old 64bit .deb file of the old grey spotify.

There is 32bit .deb file around easy to find here: https://community.spotify.com/t5/Help-Desktop-Linux-Windows-Web/Spotify-0-9-4-for-32-bit-Linux/td-p/...

But I am looking for the 64bit build because I run Debian 8 64bit.

I want to use the old grey version because I hate the new black and stretched out look.

The internet is full of these old versions, but only for Windows.

Its impossible to find any linux build out there.

I hope you can help me out here.

I was reading on this forum and I noticed this thread:

https://community.spotify.com/t5/Help-Desktop-Linux-Windows-Web/Spotify-Debian-package-for-Jessie-te...

OP says:

Download the package http://83.212.107.72/spotify-client_0.9.4.183.g644e24e.428-1_amd64.deb

The link does not work anymore.

But here I have proof that a 64bit build does exists and I hope someone out there has this file!

If you have the file or any 64bit .deb with the old grey look 0.9.4 or older.

Please share the file! 🙂

//Thank you

Solved the issue. But this might be good documentation for anyone else who is looking for the same thing.

I found this thread:

https://community.spotify.com/t5/Help-Desktop-Linux-Windows-Web/Spotify-0-9-10-for-GNU-Linux-Welcome...

The link led to this page:

https://github.com/olejon/spotcommander/wiki/DowngradeSpotify

So I downloaded the:

https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/8593574/Spotify/spotify-client_0.9.4.183.g644e24e.428-1_amd64.de...

And dependencies

libssl0.9.8

http://snapshot.debian.org/archive/debian/20110406T213352Z/pool/main/o/openssl098/libssl0.9.8_0.9.8o...

libgcrypt11

http://packages.ubuntu.com/uk/trusty-updates/amd64/libgcrypt11/download

So yeah

 1. I first installed dependencies
   a). libssl0.9.8_0.9.8o-7_amd64.deb
   b). libgcrypt11_1.5.3-2ubuntu4.2_amd64.deb
 2. And then spotify-client_0.9.4.183.g644e24e.428-1_amd64.deb

All good!
