My Question or Issue

So the thing is, when I log on to Spotify all my album covers are showing. But after ca 30 seconds, some of them are disappear. It's always the same album covers that are disappearing each time. Its not all of the album covers either, but always the same ones. When I click on the album, the cover will show again, and remain shown until I relog/open the app again

Could somebody help me with this? Is there anyone with the same problem?

I have tried to re-install and clear the cache. But the problem still remains.

Hi there @fiskragu,

Thanks for reaching out to the Community and welcome!

We understand that you already tried reinstalling the app, but just to confirm, did you follow these specific steps? Those are for a clean reinstall, which is more thorough than a regular one and can help clearing any corrupted files that might be causing trouble.

However, based on the screenshots, it looks like you have a large library with many playlists and folders. This can explain this behavior, as this is something the app does in order to load all the content faster and in a more effective way when opening folders and playlists with a lot of content.

Hope this helps. If you have any questions or need anything else, the Community is here for you.

Cheers!

I have the same problem. I don't think it has anything to do with the size of the library since at startup it doesn’t have any problem loading all the covers.. And if that's the case then it's not really a solution to unload them.

FYI i already cleared the cache a dozen times now and it's getting rather tiresome hoping an update will fix this.

PS. One thing i noticed is that if i shuffle play a folder, then all the covers load. They eventually unload when moving to another folder or quitting the app and reopening. I wish they would just stay put.

(macOS Catalina 10.15.7, Premium, RO)

Also, I think it is worth mentioning that this only happens with folders and the playlists (created or saved) within them. The albums saved in main library load just fine, while some playlists have trouble creating album art cache index.

Hi @hypnosu,

Thanks for the post.

As @CarlosE has mentioned, this issue might be related to the size of your Music library or the folder.

You can try toggling Hardware Acceleration On/ Off and see if that makes a difference.

  1. Open Spotify and click Settings.
  2. Scroll down and click Show Advanced Settings.
  3. Under Compatibility, toggle Enable hardware acceleration.

Alternativelly, you can try clearing the hosts file. Check out this post for more info.

Hope this info helps. Don't hesitateo to reach out again if you have questions.
