My Question or Issue

Good morning all.

I recently bought a vintage Stereo and to be able to listen to Spotify through it I bought a cheap bluetooth receiver that connects via RCA to the amp. It connects fine through regular bluetooth both on my iPhone and Mac Desktop, but what  I´d really like to be able to do is to connect it directly from the Spotify app. And the problem is the app show´s my Sonos speaker, my old Google nest and my Apple TV but not the cheap bluetooth receiver,  Does anyone have any tips ?

Thanks for the question and congratulations on your vintage find! Old tech always adds some style points!

 

This is quite the specific question. Unfortunately you will not be able to connect directly through the app. The Connect feature works with your homes WiFI network and it connects to smart devices so that is why you are not seeing the receiver in the list of possible devices. 

 

Hope this cleared things up and hey, the receiver does work. We wish you a lot of hours of retro vibes to go with it. Maybe share a picture with the Community if you feel like it : )
