[Desktop][Mac] Function/media keys (play/pause, next, previous) not working

Function keys have been broken since last Spotify update.

macOS High Sierra 10.13.3

What seems to be happening when you try and using the Function keys?

Nothing happened when the keys didn't work.

Surprisingly the function keys have started working again for some unknown reason...

I am having this issue as well for the past few days. I can not use the previous / pause/play / next buttons on my keyboard on Spotify.

How can I fix it?
