My Question or Issue

Hi,

Even though I have a paid account, I keep getting podcast recommendations which I'm not interested in.

There is no option to disable this as far as I can see.

The "Your top shows" section is now at the top of my home screen. This is just a shameless ad campaign to push podcasts on users.

Since I'm a paying user, I'd like the option to tailor the home screen to what's relevant to me, not to Spotify's bottom line.

Where can I find the option to disable podcast recommendations, or to customize my home screen?

Thanks.

Hey @alex_muscar,

Thanks for reaching out to the Community.

Currently the app doesn't support the feature to customize the start screen. It seems however that other Spotify users also mentioned they'd like to see in this feature introduced and posted an idea. You can add your support there by up-voting the idea. We'll inform on any developments there, if there are any. So make sure to subscribe, if you haven’t already.

Hope this info is useful. Let us know if there's anything else we can help with.

Mid of 2023 and Spotify shows again, how much they care about their customers. "Changing the start screen is not possible, but if you will leave such a message in the ideas part of the community board, everything can happen". Three years later nothing happened. Customer care my a##.

I“m still very annoyed that podcasts are placed in such a prominent place that I sometimes start one unwanted.

I never listen to podcasts. I“m not interested in listening podcasts.

Raising the price AND nonstop podcast/ audiobook pushing with hardly any music in sight with this new awful UX. Yep, I'm leaving Spotify. After six paid years. Hello, YouTube Music.

I need only the music, and not psychology help

My Question or Issue

Is there a way to customize or remove episodes for you, especially when the content is totally irrelevant?

Somehow the algorithm figures out that I am a social science student. However, I am never into politics, or whatever. I like to listen to light music a lot when I am ready to study or work in the morning.

But, it is absolutely annoying when I try to play my music in the morning and I see some faces of politicians on the desktop.

Hope this issue will be resolved soon.

My Question or Issue

how to remove the recommendations of new episodes? i find it jarring that the topics recommended have nothing to do with what i actually listen to.

you're not gonna change this but I am here to complain anyway.

Guys, use Spicetify to get rid of all your problems.

I’m paying for this. Stop spamming me with the awful Spotify exclusive podcast recommendations.
I want to be able to choose and curate what is promoted to me.

2024 and Spotify still hasn't done anything but up the monthly charge. Kinda difficult to keep your listeners when you push away all ideas?

It's 2024 and still not implemented if I'm correct.  I guess you lot all either died of old age or changed platforms?
