Local Files Not Showing Album Covers On Desktop App

My Question or Issue

i have some mp3 files on my computer, imported them to iTunes and edited their data so they would show up properly with an artist name and title in my local files, and et cetera. i have the songs in a playlist, and the album art shows up just fine on my iPhone xR, but it will not show up on the desktop application.

i have only been able to find the opposite scenario, and no solutions have helped me. i have restarted spotify on both ends, restarted my laptop, edited the art in itunes again, downscaled the photo, upscaled, et cetera.

any help would be greatly appreciated 🙂
