Hey there @YazO,

Welcome to the Spotify Community!

Have you tried performing a clean reinstall of the app by following the steps here? If you still need help with the uninstall process, this article has some useful steps you can try, so feel free to check it out as well.

If the issue persists, could you give us a bit more info on what's happening on your Mac? Are you able to log in or does the app not load at all? A screenshot or a short screen recording which captures how things look on your end would be greatly appreciated.

As for the iPhone issue, our tech folks are currently looking into it. We'll keep everyone posted in this thread as soon as we have any updates - check it out and subscribe from the three dots menu to stay tuned.

Cheers 🤘

This issue was reported to internal teams and it should be fixed by now according to this thread. So to continue investigating this case, would you mind confirming if you've tried to perform a clean reinstall of the app already? If not, give it a try by following the steps mentioned here

If the issue persists, include in your next response the Spotify version you're currently running to continue investigating the case.

We'll be on the lookout.

Hi!

I just reinstalled the Spotify app in my MacBook Pro (Sequoia 15) and the issue have been resolved.
It initiated instantly, found my account, and can listen to the music.

Thanks a lot for following up and helping! 🙂

I'm still having this issue on my macbook and have spent about 3 hours on various online chats with your support team and have tried everything you have suggested but with no success. I'm currently running Sequoia 15.4.1

Hi there, @Si1979,

Thanks for joining the thread!

Is the app set to offline mode at the moment? If so, you can disable it from the menu at the top > File > Offline Mode. Also, make sure Spotify is allowed through your Firewall settings.

If you haven't already, it's worth flushing your DNS cache to see if that helps:

Spoiler
  1. Open Terminal.app.
  2. Enter the following command: sudo dscacheutil -flushcache; sudo killall -HUP mDNSResponder
  3. Restart Spotify.

Something else that comes to mind is changing the Proxy type to "No proxy" from the app's Settings > Proxy Settings. Deleting the prefs file from the Spotify installation folder could also help, feel free to give the steps below a try as well:

Spoiler
  1. Open Finder on your Mac and click Go > Library (if you don't have hidden folders enabled, press the option key first and it should appear).
  2. Go to Application Support > Spotify.
  3. There you'll find a file called prefs, which holds info about the currently logged in account. Simply delete it.
  4. While in the Spotify folder, you'll also find a Users folder. Open it and delete its contents as well.
  5. Restart the Spotify app.

Lastly, if there are any entries in the hosts file with Spotify in the address, I'd recommend removing them. You'll find a detailed guide on how to do that in this article.

Hope this helps! Let us know how it goes 👍
