[MacOS][Windows] Spotify randomly stops playing and connect switches to another device

I have several Connect devices, including 2 laptops I use every day (a Mac work, a Windows at home). So 9am-7pm my work laptop is playing almost non-stop, then 7pm-11pm my home laptop is playing almost non-stop.
When I'm at work, my home laptop is sleeping. Every now and then (usually at least 1-2x a week these days) my work laptop suddenly stops playing music and it switches to playing music on my sleeping (!) laptop at home. I have to manually open spotify and switch back to my current laptop. Everytime this happens I also lose my playing queue. SO ANNOYING. BEEN THIS WAY FOR SEVERAL MONTHS NOW. Spotify is getting less stable and lower quality with each 'upgrade' 😞

What's the fix...other than quitting Spotify?
