Popup ads keep pausing music

Everytime an ad pops up (as a banner on lower screen) in Spotify, the music pauses.  Any suggestions as how to correct this, Spotify is only on my desktop and I have the free version. TYIA.

That's odd. Does this happen with specific ads or with all ads? Also, could you send over your OS, Spotify and device versions? I'd love to take a closer look.

Hi! The video ads seem to cause the music pausing the most. I listen to
Spotify on my PC running Windows 10. Not sure what version of Spotify
though. Note: this is a new issue and have been on free Spotify for at
least a year now and I don't have it installed anywhere else. It is truly
maddening 😞

Thanks for all the info.

You can find the Spotify version under Help > About Spotify.

In the meantime, try reinstalling Spotify to see if it helps.

I did a clean reinstall on Spotify before I posted and it did not help at
all. I have yet to give the other Windows troubleshooting tips a try. I
also listen to Spotify via the Spotify Web Player if that makes a
difference. AND for the life of me, the Spotify version does not show
up...anywhere! Not under "help", then "about", not when I click on the
Spotify logo...seriously, I have looked everywhere and nothing!

That's odd. Could you send over a screenshot of what Spotify shows when you head to: 'Help > About Spotify'? Also, could you let me know what the ad is for? I'd love to take a closer look.
