Smart shuffle recommendations appear in shuffle mode

Smart shuffle recommendations appear in shuffle mode

So, when you click the "shuffle" button, it toggles between three modes: regular, shuffle, and smart shuffle. Smart shuffle recommendations appear in both "shuffle" and "smart shuffle" mode. Meaning I am unable to play in regular "shuffle" mode without other songs showing up. Spotify for macOS (Apple Silicon) 1.2.39.578.g0ea3f38b

Hi there @jonathanderson!

 

Have you tried performing a clean reinstall of the app to see if that fixes the issue? It's also worth disabling/enabling Hardware acceleration - the option is located in Settings > Compatibility.

 

If the issue persists, could you check if this occurs with a specific playlist or with all of your playlists? Does it persist on the Web Player as well? A short screen recording which captures the described behavior in action would be greatly appreciated. That way, we can get a clear view of what's happening on your end.

After the most recent update, I had an issue that Smart Shuffle was turning itself on every time I started a new playlist. I looked up existing issues and saw a recommendation to untoggle “include smart shuffle option”.

 

I did that; however, smart shuffle recommendations are still being included in the regular shuffle! Obviously, I tried force quitting/restarting the app, but that didn’t help. The app is broken since the most recent update. That update also included the move of the “Create” button in place of the “Your library” button. Which is complete nonsense.

 

Please revert the update. The app is broken and is totally user-unfriendly at the moment.
