My Question or Issue

Recently I had an issue which ended up requiring me to restore my computer from a backup external drive. I had a backup saved from a few months ago that I used to restore my files. Now, my saved songs in my Spotify desktop app only include ones that I had saved when I had created the backup several months ago. I am missing several months of songs I had saved, which do still appear on my mobile version. My playlists seem to have synced properly and are up to date, but not my general library of saved songs.

I have had no luck trying the following:

  • Logging out and logging back in on the app
  • Uninstalling and reinstalling the app
  • Putting both the mobile and desktop versions into offline mode for a while and turning them online again (as I've seen one thread about a syncing issue mention)

Thanks for letting me know.

Can you please do the following in the desktop app:

  1. Open Settings > Local Files > Remove/Unselect all local sources.
  2. After you've done that, click Spotify in the menu bar then Quit Spotify.
  3. Open Finder then click Go > Library in the menu bar. (You may need to hold the Alt key if Library isn’t visible).
  4. Open Caches and delete the com.spotify.Client folder.
  5. Click the back arrow.
  6. Open Application Support and delete the Spotify folder.
  7. Download and install Spotify again.

Let me know how it goes 🙂

Hey @MishMeesh,

Thanks for reaching out.

I recommend making sure that both devices are connected to the same network.

Also, could you please let me know the exact version of Spotify that you're on?

Yep, both devices are on the same network.

Spotfiy on desktop is version 1.0.96.181.gf6bc1b6b.

Spotify on iOS is vesion 8.4.89.

Also since posting the thread, I've updated to OS Mojave.

I've also tested whether saving a song at this point on one device syncs up on the other and it does. There just is that 3-4 month gap still on the desktop app of missing songs.
