Songs not Playing

Solved!

Songs not Playing

When I play some songs on Spotify, it shows that it is playing in the songs menu. However, as you can see in the picture, on the bottom bar the album icon is empty, and the title and artist is not present, and no sound plays. Can anyone tell me what is wrong? Because I can't play many of my favourite songs!

P.S. This dosn't occur to all songs, only to some random ones.

Hello.
I solved this problem by removing blocked ip's that I added previously 😄
No idea how you can fix this on MAC, but here is quick tutorial for Windows users:

I managed to do this on mac (go to folder: /private/etc/hosts) find hosts, dublicate to desktop, remove all the blocked ip's, save, paste in folder, replace).

Hi @SupriseYou, thanks for writing!

Can you tell me if those songs are local files?

If they're local files, please double check if they're still available in your computer.

If they're not local files, I suggest you reinstall the app. Here's the link to guide you:

Let me know how it goes!

Hey @Mafi15,

Can you please tell me your OS and Spotify version?

Are you able to play those songs on other devices?

I am using Spotify (1.0.99.250) and MacOS Mojave (10.14.3). Sometimes it just works, and sometimes it does not. Is it possible to "factory reset" an account?

Can confirm have the exact same issue. It isn't just in the app, rather it's also in the browser. Been happening for a few days. Tried reinstalling and it worked for a day, then back to same issue.

I noticed a pattern, it plays everything your 'favorite songs' but nothing else.

That work!

Thank you so much.
