Spotify won't move on to the next song

My Question or Issue

Hi

Spotify will stop playing music, intermittently at the end of a song. It won't move on to the next song. I can't replicate it, but it does it every so often. At times, every song. It's not the biggest deal in the world, but it sure is annoying. It will stop at 0:01 left in the song and won't move on. Any ideas?

Thanks for posting in the Community and welcome.

Does this happen while listening to a specific playlist or with all of them? In the meantime, let us know if you've tried any troubleshooting steps to fix the issue, such as reinstalling the Spotify app, and checking if it happens with a different internet connection and a different device.

If this doesn't help, send over the make/model and OS of the device along with the Spotify version you are currently running.

I tried reinstalling, and it did the same thing still. It happens with all playlists. i don't have another internet connection to try, so that's out. It only happens on my macbook though, not on other devices.

I am using a 2023 MacBook, using the latest MacOS version.

In this case, we'd recommend clearing up your hosts file by following these steps. 

If the issue persists, could you ask a friend or a relative to log in to their account on your PC to see if they can replicate this behavior with their account?
