Using Bluetooth for only Spotify (not other computer audio) on Macbook

Solved!

Using Bluetooth for only Spotify (not other computer audio) on Macbook

I would like to use a bluetooth speaker to play spotify during the workday. But when I connect my macbook to the speaker ALL sounds divert to the speaker. Is there a way to connect only the Spotify App with the speaker? Other email or IM notifications or webpages with sound I don't want broadcasted through the speaker (ideally these stay on my computer to control vol up/down or mute).

Hi ktlyna!

It is not possible to change Spotify's output. It will always be sent to the default output.

As a workaround I would suggest something like AudioRouter (you can find it on GitHub), which allows you to re-route the audio from one output to another or even duplicate it.

Cheers!
