I use the Spotify web player exclusively on my Mac, and found that two days ago it's just outright skipping songs, sometimes after not playing them at all, sometimes after playing 1-3 seconds of the song, however rarely one song will play just fine.
I've tried using a different account, clearing my cache and cookies, disabling my addons, but nothing's worked.
I use Spotify on Firefox on a Mid-2012 Mac running Catalina. The web player's run perfectly fine in the past and nothing on this computer has heavily changed since it last worked fine. My internet connection is fine.
People seem to have encountered this issue in the past, but I've tried as much as I can from those threads and nothing appears to work.
I tried the steps in the Webplayer Help page for Firefox but it didn’t help.
I was having issues with Edge initially but it’s working for me now after I installed the latest update. I’ve switched to Edge as my primary browser since I was having other issues with Firefox.
I know Safari is a problematic browser and it's not necessarily Spotify's fault, but in the last month or so, if I'm using Safari, it will skip through the first 4-6 songs (like it is trying to play them, but can't so it skips to the next song and tries to play it, but can't, so it skips...) and then start playing ads, like it thinks I just listened to 4-6 songs already. Sometimes it will immediately do the same thing after the ads finish.

It only happens in Safari. It only happens on my Macs (not my iPad). It only happens like half the time, the other half it will play what I click on. I have no extensions installed. I have tried logging out and logging back in but it still happens. I've been try incognito mode the last day, but it still happens.
and no VPN
No ideas? Just a bug on Spotify's end and I just have to wait for them to fix it?
