What can I do if the Spotify web player won't play any music anymore?

Solved!

What can I do if the Spotify web player won't play any music anymore?

The webplayer used to work just fine for me, but since a few weeks, the play button seems to be broken. I tried playing music, playlists, podcasts, but nothing works. The webplayer just doesn't react to my clicking the play button. I tried emptying the cache, reloading the page, even restart my laptop (macbook pro), but it doesn't change anything.

The app on my phone (android) works fine, though…

Hey there @Winibelly

Thanks for getting in touch about this and welcome to the Community 🙂

Kudos for the troubleshooting steps you've tried! We can add a few more steps to see if they work for you.

Could you try if the same happens while using a different browser or an incognito window? If so, we'd recommend giving a different internet connection a go to see if that does the trick. You can create a hotspot on your phone and use that.

Additionally, we suggest that you check your firewall and make sure Spotify is set as an exception.

Lastly, could you let us know if the desktop app works as expected?

We'll be on the lookout.

Thank you very much! The changing the internet connexion did the trick and now it also works again with the original wifi (after switching back and forth). Very weird, but glad it works now!
