Hi Meredtith! I just did all that, and I still have the same problem.... I added Spotify as an exception to my Windows Firewall, as well as my Avast Antivrus . I also added Facebook as a trusted site in Windows, but is there any other way of making it a known exception? Whenever I log in here, there's a small glitch saying that there was an error with my login, so perhaps that also has something to do with it? I don't know, I'm completely at a loss...

Omg I just found out the solution to my spotify saying offline, just log out log back in and then your back online well at least I am so hope this works for all of you.

Mine was doing the same thing  and I logged off the spotfy then logged back on and now I am back online.

I had this trouble for a few days now until today when i finally sat down to sort it out.

Facebook and Spotify are linked.

Log out of both Facebook and spotify.

Then you need to change your fb password.

Log back in to both. fb first then spotify.

If this still doesn't work, they maybe an alliterative

hey ... i was just getting that message too... and what worked for me was..... i was trying to log in useing facebook like i always did..... but instead i tried loging in the regular way through spodity... using the my email and password... and it instantly worked.....i think that is an issue with facebook.... they are changing up a lot of things in the last 6 months.... hope it helps you and anybody else out there..... good luck!!! -rg

I've tried re-installing and after working for a day, it stopped working again when I re-started the machine.

I have been having issues with spotify for a long time, that's why I canceled my subscription. Now, I can't get online. I was starting to think it was because I canceled, but since others are having the same problem I don't feel as singled out 🙂

Trying to sign into the site here I realized I had changed my password at some point because I couldn't log in. It let me log into my Spotify account with my old password but kept me in "Offline mode", but when I signed out and signed in with my updated password it worked. Not sure why it lets me sign in with two different passwords?

Same problem today, iMac: offline, on the iPad: error code 404. Reinstall didn't work. So what's going on?

I'm having the exact same problem, i'm on unlimited.  I've had this happen briefly in the past, but it normally sorts itself after a minute or two.  I'm not getting any joy this time 😞

try using deezer or youtube its easier but deezer works on iphone 4-5 and it isnt unlimited it take the micke so try something diff i think we need to get prenium xxx

I have been having similar problems for several weeks now.  For me Spotify seems to go offline after playing several tracks.  I have to log off, log back on and then it will play a few more tracks.  I have made several comments to this myself but have not received any reply from Spotify.  Does anyone know how to contact Spotify by telephone?  This is becoming very frustrating.  I really enjoy Spotify but cannot see paying for Premium if this continues much longer.  I never had this problem with Spotify Free.

I only have an issue with my iPod going offline after several tracks. Sometimes it's in the middle of a song and other times between songs. I've upgraded the platfom on my iPod, uninstalled and re-installed Spotify but issue persists. Works like a charm on my PC at home but VERY iffy on my iPod. I agree with a previous poster that Spotify never goes offline when using the ad-based version. However once you upgrade to Premium Spotify doesn't work as well.
