My Question or Issue

I have added songs from ('https://open.spotify.com/album/49lI59JsVupCWGJ4oH26Wo')

to my Liked Songs playlist.  While the song, for example Motive (Mixed) shows ASOT 1153 - A State of Trance Episode 1153 (A State o...) in the Liked Songs playlist as the Album.  When playing it, you can see in bottom left it has entirely different Album Cover.

If I go to the ASOT 1153 album page, it doesn't even have the Green Checkmark showing it's in my Liked Songs playlist.

If I click the + button, when it will add the SAME song twice to my Liked Songs, only now it's from a different album (A State of Trance Year Mix 2023 (Mixed by Armin van...).

So it's like when the same song is in multiple albums from the same artist, it adds them to your Liked Songs with a random album that happens to the contain that song.

Hey @user12650,

Thank you for reaching out!

We ran some tests from our side and were able to replicate some similar behaviours. What we noticed is that, at least for us, this mostly happens when saving a song from an album that has multiple releases (Deluxe, Remasters, Anniversary Editions, etc.).

The tracks from such albums are interlinked for stream payout reasons, as on Spotify this is tracked per-song and everything is aggregated. Due to this interlinking, a song with the same content can appear as a different version of itself, but is ultimately one and the same and shouldn't influence the listening experience.

In your particular case, the ASOT 1153 album seems to no longer be tied to the artist page. It's also no longer searchable and can only be accessed via a link. Liked songs from such albums will redirect to the current version of the song that is available because of this 🙂

Hope this clears things up! We're here for you if there's anything else you need assistance with.
