All songs skipping. cannot play music. web browser

On my laptop, spotify has started skipping every song after a short while, and when it stops, the song it lands on becomes silent. Ads still function fine. This issue is only on my laptop, my desktop still works fine. I use the web player on both devices. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Im having the same issue. Windows 10 on Google Chrome.

Hey folks,

Thanks for posting in the Community and welcome.

@Pikamew362, @mrnapolean1, just to confirm, if you have the desktop app installed on the affected devices, is it working as it should? Is this happening if you try to us a different browser?

On another note, we'd like to gather some additional info. Is this happening if you change the internet connection you're using? Is this happening over WiFi? Ethernet? Both? If possible, you can create a hotspot from your phone and connect your computer to it, to see if you notice any difference. Give it a try and let us know if changing the connection makes any difference.

Lastly, just to confirm, do you use a VPN? If yes, try switching it off.

Keep us in the loop!

I have not tried the desktop app, as my laptop will not allow me to install it. (it is on loan from my school.) I have had the issue on two separate wifi networks. I do not use a VPN.

Hi there @Pikamew362,

Thanks for the reply. Since this is a school laptop and you mentioned that your desktop works fine, it seems that the laptop itself has some kind of restrictions that are causing this issue. This is quite typical of work machines. If possible, maybe you can reach out to your school's IT department so they can help you troubleshoot this. Or maybe with their permission, you can try installing the desktop app to see if that works better.

Hope this clears things up.
