please automatically alphabetize playlists. Rhapsody does so and it was much easier to find my music than on Spotify.

Hi I tried this and it worked for my computer spotify application. However when I turned on my android app expecting it to be synced and alphabetized as well it was NOT. Help anyone?

Is there any way to search through your playlists??? It's really a huge pain to manually search through all my playlists to find a song. Additionally is there any way to alphabetize my songs within a playlist on my ANDROID AND APPLE APPS. I know how to on my computer app by clicking track however I don't know how to using my android and apple apps.

Hey, picking up on your point about alphabetizing your music within a single list...

I created a new playlist.. called NEW MUSIC

THEN, I dragged each playlist into it, one by one. When I was finished, I opened the NEW MUSIC playlist, clicked on whichever column I wanted alphabetized, and VOILA -  All music, artists, albums are located in seconds.

only solution i have found is to select "Library" from your collection, and then use the filter feature to filter out an artist. Doesn't help for playlists that include more than one artist, but can help if you just want to find music by an artist you have save as a playlist.

@amightymat....I agree it is lacking but by the time you quit yapping about it's lacking feature you could have them organized, I just organized my 100+ playlists and it took 30 minutes,I happen to DJ using Spotify and such, so it was not necessarily a waste of time but if ya want it organized just do it your self. (something lacking in the 21st Century)

Sort on the column you wish to sort by, in this case, "Track."  The playlist is now sorted.  The secret is to keeping the sort order to stick.

Ctrl-A to select all tracks

Right Click > Send To > New Playlist

The New Playlist is now permanently sorted and the sort order will stick.  If you prefer to use the old playlist [for linking purposes, for example] just copy the new sorted track list back into the original playlist.  Now all your existing links will work for both you and anyone following the playlist.

Oh, HELL no. 

Most serious music listeners will want their tracks displayed by album and track number.  Since you can't please everyone, the default is the order in which the tracks are added.   You can then manually drag them around to any order you want.

This is not a perfect solution but...you CAN add a playlist folder, (click "File" at the top left), then put all your playlists in the folder, (possibly the biggest pain, but once it's done, it's done, and it really doesn't take that long.  Tip:  Move the folder to the bottom of all the playlists to assist in easier playlist moving).  Once all the playlists are in one folder, go to the folder and click "Artist" (top toolbar), and it will alphabetize them all that way.  You can then alphabetize the songs as well, if you want, or by album.  It doesn't list the actual playlist name, whatever you might have named it, but still....it might make it a little easier to find that one needle in a haystack when you really want it.  🙂

I'm not too familiar with the interface.  I ended up just alphabetizing them manually anyway....and it really didn't take that long.

Sorry man, but this isn't a case of 'something lacking in the 21st Century'. It's not just laziness. It should just be a feature of every music player (you would think). Plus, when the App doesn't actually allow you to rearrange playlists once they're made, it gets a little tricky to move them around.

This alphabetising feature really needs to be implemented. Please sort this out, Spotify!

Hey, I'am new at Spotify. In the last 2 weeks I have created over 100 playlists. -> growing. I use the Iphone, iPad and the Mac app. The Apps are great, and the reason for me to switch to Spotify. Sorting the playlists is THE MISSING FEATURE. Please make it possible to sort alphabetical. It would be great, if it would be possible to sort the albums by release date too. In the first step alphabetical and then by release. At the moment it takes a lot of time to find music. I use the app in the car too, please have consideration for pedestrians. THX

I have 400+ playlists.  All alphabetized manually.  It doesn't take that long.

As I stated in an earlier post, if Spotify does as you suggest, they will most likely break the ability to drop-&-drag to your own preferred sorting order.  Should a playlist by "Eric Clapton" be with the E's?  Should "The Allman Brothers Band" be with the T's?

Seriously, you can sort 100 playlists manually in less than 10 minutes.

I want my playlist organized alphabetically. Just like in under the "Collection" heading on the full Desktop OS verision. You can click "Library" and filter alphabetically. 

PLEASE ADD THIS TO THE MOBILE OS

I'm afraid I disagree - it was over 18mths ago that I put a comment on this thread and it's baffling that nothing has been implemented - I want to sort my playlists with a couple of clicks and don't mind if you would like to do it manually - I do not.

Why this simple functionality has not been created is still beyond reason.
