Any button on keyboard changes songs on Spotify rapidly, any # or letter.

Any button on keyboard changes songs on Spotify rapidly, any # or letter.

As I was playing a video game, I was typing in game and my music started to freak change on me. I got a new PC and I have Windows 11. It hasn't done this to me on my older PC. It is the same keyboard as previous. I'd like to listen to music as I game, but I can't deal with playing a PC game with a keyboard and the song changing anytime a key is hit.

As far as I know, I have not hit any other button on my keyboard to start this. And I know I haven't hit anything through the app.

Hey there,

Thanks for posting in the Community and welcome.

In this case, you can start with a clean reinstall of the app to see if this makes a difference. You can find the steps for a clean reinstall here. By doing that the app can be up-to-date and you can make sure the cache is not leading to this inconvenience.

If the above doesn't so the trick, would you mind sending us the exact Spotify version you're running in the affected device? Meanwhile, we'd suggest trying heading to Settings and switching off the option Show desktop overlay when using media keys. Give it a try and let us know how it goes.

Lastly, if the inconvenience persists, it'd be really helpful if you send us a video recording of what you kindly mentioned. You can attach it in your next reply in mp4 format, or you can also upload it to YouTube or Google drive and make it public, so we can visualize it.

Keep us in the loop!
