My Question or Issue

Hey,

Whenever I plug my headphones into my audio interface it says: Spotify can't play this right now. If you have the file on your computer you can import it. But whenever I plug my headphones into my computer spotify works. I tried multiple solutions: reinstalling spotify, deleting the caches or run as admin but it didn't work. I am using a rubix22 audio interface.

Thank you

Hey @franki34

I have noticed Spotify doesn't handle changing audio output mid-operation too well. I also had that sort of issue when I had a different soundcard where the computer knew when I changed output.

Pausing Spotify when changing output should avoid the error and the issue with it.

I think I avoided the issue by choosing the output before opening Spotify.

Hope this helps, have a nice day 🙂

Hey,

No it didn't work but I used to put something in properties, start in. The problem is that I formatted my pc so I don't have the command anymore.

Thank you

@franki34

That command might have been the following:

--enable-audio-graph

That allowed users to select an audio output for Spotify.

However if you have Windows 10, the OS itself already allows to select outputs per-app, and the command above won't work.

Do this:

1. Right-click on speaker icon on Taskbar's notification area, select "Open Sound Settings"

2. In Sound Settings scroll down to "Other sound options" and click on "App Volume And Device Preferences"

3. At the top you'll find general system-wide settings, below you find dedicated settings for each open app. You'll need to have Spotify open to see it there.

Let me know how you get on! 🙂
