My Question or Issue

I moved the Spotify\Storage files to my PC and Spotify App couldn't read them, it overwrote all and started to download my songs all over again. I don't wanna wait for another 12GB music file to get downloaded. What can I do?

Hey @F00,

Thanks for posting in the Community.

It is not possible to move the downloads from one device to another, as the downloads are bound to the specific device and Spotify account.

If you want to listen to offline music on a different device, you'll have to log in with your account on the app on the target device and download the content for offline listening once again.

Hope this clears things a bit,

Cheers!

My account always have the right to listen offline and download any songs,
right? Then why would changing device with the same account change the
encrypting parameters? Would it provide a way for the "cheaters" to abuse
that? If so, I'm really curious about how. And thanks for the previous help.

Hey @F00,

Thanks for the question and the reply.

We can't go into further details about how the offline music feature is implemented, but you're on the right track with your guess.
