Devices:
Windows 10 Pro 21H2 (using installer, not windows 10 app, Version: Spotify for Windows 1.1.91.824.g07f1e963)
Iphone 8+ on iOS 14.6 Version: 8.7.55.382
Issue:
When importing local files into spotify, if 2 local files have the same artist
in the mp3 tags, it will duplicate the cover art of one song, and display it on all songs with the same artist tag
This behavior occurs on the Windows desktop version, but not on IPhone.
Attached below I have the two example mp3 files I used, and screenshots from both windows and iOS as examples
Spotify has been reinstalled multiple times in an attempt to resolve the issue, and has not changed it

Hi there @Meepster99,
Thanks for reaching out about this in the Community!
The cover art can be edited in the file metadata, but if Spotify is not able to load that it will most likely replicate the cover art of other songs added at the same time (or from the same album).
Here are some threads where users discuss ways around this:
Hope you find something that helps. Don't hesitate to reach out again if you have questions.
The issue is that the duplicated cover art is not caused by spotify being unable to load it, but by spotify
deciding that if 2 songs have the same artist that they must have the same cover art.
Additionally, the same mp3 files, when on iOS work correctly, while they do not on pc, as shown by the previously attached example picture.
The cover art that is selected on pc depends not on the individual image metadata of the mp3 files, but on which one is added to local files first. Also, if the iOS version of spotify can read these mp3 files correctly, is there a reason the PC would not be able to?
This link: Local files covers are the same for all songs of an album describes a solution which involves using different black space characters to differentiate the artist tags, which does solve the problem, but even with that, I believe that the way the songs are shown on PC and iOS should be consistent.
