My Question or Issue

When I open the application from the phone, I cannot connect to my desktop version, but there is no problem in the browser version. I uninstalled and reinstalled the desktop version twice, but it didn't work.

Hey @eqonis,

Thanks for reaching out to the Community!

We understand you're experiencing issues with your desktop Spotify app. It's a good call that you've already went for reinstalls of the app on your PC, however if not done in the so called 'clean way' this could've actually resulted in accumulating some additional cached data, which could now be messing up the currently installed app's performance.

To start things fresh we can suggest to do the so called clean reinstall of the app using the linked steps. This process is more thorough than the normal one and ensures that no cached data will cause interference with the new installation of your app. Let us know if this shakes things up for the desktop app and if it starts to behave as expected.

Hope this helps. Keep us posted if you have any other questions.

I did what you said but it didn't fix again.

Hi @eqonis,

Thank you for keeping in touch.

Since the previous steps didn't work, please try clearing the Hosts file with these instructions. Even if the article is for a different issue, the steps are the same.

If the issue persists after that, try disabling your Firewall, restart the Spotify app and check if you're able to connect now.

Let us know how this goes.

Unfortunately, there isn't any entries with Spotify or Fastly.

Hey @eqonis,

Thank you for keeping us updated.

Just to make sure, could you try to log in with a different account in your desktop app? It could be a friend's or family member's account. In case you don't have another account to try it, you can create a free test account with a different email address here

If the issue persists, include a screenshot of the error message you're getting in your next response.

We'll be on the lookout.
