Can't download Spotify to new laptop

My Question or Issue

 New laptop. Want to download Spotify.  After downloaded .exe, get message "A Windows Store installation of Spotify was found on your system.  Please uninstall that version first or update through the Windows Store." 1) Can't find Spotify of Programs list; how would I uninstall what I can't find?  2) At Windows Store, I can't find any option to update whatever of Spotify has downloaded

Hi,

That's strange that you are gettings this error. Try to look Spotify app from Windows Store in Settings>Apps.

If it isn't there try to download IObit Unistaller. It's a great app to get rid of stubborn programs. Try that and report back how it went.

Have you tried Looking in app data (hidden folders)? Maybe u could uninstall from there? Failing that do a search in START MENU/RUN Spotify
