I can't seem to gte my local files working. I've followed all of the stpes to make them pop up in the local files in spotify but none of them do. I may have a sneaking suspicion that spotify may not support the songs I have but I just wanted to ask.
So what I am trying to import are Bang Dream Covers. I've downloaded these files off the Fandom wiki in an ogg format. So I've converted them into mp4/3 since I did do both. I can play them normally, Through Itunes, QuickTime, VLC and Groove Music. So I know these files work.
Hey @duke1294, welcome to the Spotify Community!
Am I understanding correctly that you're unable to see the Local Files in the Desktop Spotify app?
Let me know, I'll see what I can do to help!
That is correct
Could you go ahead and double check that you're following the instructions laid out in this support article? It sounds like you're doing everything right but it's good to be sure.
Let me know how it goes!
I had made sure everything I did was correct. And I also did try with other file types as well. None worked
Could you also try a clean reinstall of the Spotify app and see if this helps? If this doesn't work, we can try a few other things.
Let me know how it goes 🙂
I have done that still nothing pops up. MP3 format
MP3 format
Thanks for getting back to me. Could you confirm your Spotify version for me? I'll dig around for some more info. Thanks!
Just got the latest version. 1.1.16.522.g55a4b852
@duke1294, thanks for your patience!
I suggest you try syncing local files that have been downloaded from an official source - like a music store. This should work.
If you've downloaded your current files from a random unofficial website, I can't guarantee they can be played in Spotify.
If there's anything else I can do to help please let me know.
