I call up a list of songs, start to play them but after the first song plays, Spotify stops. I have to click on the next song to get it going again. Then at the end of that song, I have to restart it again. Very frustrating. Anyone else have this problem?

Me again...
Forgot to mention: This was occurring on my desktop which I have just retired for a new laptop. It's happening on the new computer too. Also, when I would put songs into a playlist, they DO play continuously. Very strange. Thanks for your help!
Is repeat not just turned off?
In the bottom right corner, there should be a little circle. If it isn't highlighted, click it.
The repeat (and shuffle) icons are in the right corner. However when I activate both of them (turning them green), it doesn't solve the problem. Playlists play continuously while songs in the queue stop after one song. Isn't ANYONE else having this problem? I just moved Spotify upgraded to a new Windows 7 machine and I thought surely that would fix it.
Wanting to use this program but it is completely useless this way.
Weird, I know. No worries. Right, left... who really knows?
Right now I'm listening to John Mayall and the Bluesbreakers on MOG. I think I may be switching.
Yep, I have the same problem. Subscribed for a premium this week but now I am thinking of leaving again. Music stops after 1 number and lots of my music does not play at all (m4a).
Yes, happens with me too. Funny, I tried the free version for two weeks before I upgraded to premium and it a was total problem free two weeks. Everything worked as it was supposed to. No songs sticking and having to click the skip button to have it go to the next song for it to continue. No songs sticking for a few seconds before continuing. Nothing...It worked perfectly. It was only after I upgraded that the problems started happening. While the problem of songs totally stopping doesn't happen too often it happens often enough to be irritating. A far more common problem is having songs stop for a few seconds and then starting again and then stopping again. That is really annoying. The problem is not with my internet. Its working very well. Good latency and downloads at the maximum of my bandwidth to many sites. Im not sure how the streaming works. I would imagine that while you are listening to one song the next song is already being downloaded. If a song is ,say 3 minutes then on my connection during that time you could download 150MB of songs. Thats what, about 20 songs. So there is no reason for it to stick. I don't know for sure but I am inclined to think that spotify is being really cheap with their bandwidth. Even if they provide 0.5 MBs per user that should be more than enough. It is not HD 1080p video that we are downloading. Well 3 weeks left before my membership renews. If it continues like this I will try MOG. Plenty of fish in the sea.

Spotify uses a P2P system to transmit songs....
You could be uploading and downloading at the same time 😉
P2P. How does that work? When I stream video on Hulu or youtube there is always a buffer. The buffer may slow down and then speed up but as long as the buffer is ahead the video doesn't stick. Music files are also much smaller so they really shouldn't be stopping. I won't lie to you, I was delighted when I came across Spotify. You can find almost any song you can think of. Their database is massive. I don't mind if they have problems now and then but for three days it would play only three songs without sticking. It was frustrating.
I've been having this for a few weeks now. What I just did was log out and back in, and so far it seems to have worked....
I've also been having this local playback issue in the same fashion, i'd really like to see it resolved because ive been having this issue for a month now
Nothing to do with gapless playback...
I'm having the same problems, only with local files though. Tried all possible combinations in the settings with hardware acceleration on/off, gapless playback on/off, crossfade track on/off.
To clearify. Spotify jumps to the next song, but does not start playing it (the play/pause icon still is in "play mode" though but the timeline indicator does not appear).
Spotify is plain useless with this bug.
Here's a new wrinkle. I just called up the Billboard Top 100 playlist as suggested on the home screen. I played the first song. It did not continue to the next one but STARTED PLAYING A SONG THAT ISN'T EVEN ON THE LIST!! I don't even know where the song came from. It's not listed anywhere. Completely bizarre. Here's another thing: I recently got a new computer. I was having continuous playing problem on the old one and now have it on the new one too! I figured changing computers would solve it for sure. Somebody please help!!!!
I'm having the same issue: I can play any track from the spotify database with no issue, but if a track from my library comes on, then the next track will never play, it will just sit there, doing nothing.
I've had it with this p.o.s. program. SO many problems. Tonight it was just freezing up. And then the Radio feature took over my play queue. I'll start a list of songs and it would queue up songs from my radio stations that I didn't want to listen to. I just signed up for $5/month MOG and $5/month Rhapsody (which goes up to $10/month after three months.) I'm going to compare them. I only listen to music on my computer so don't need mobile applications. If MOG is sufficiant (which I think it will be. It's great so far!!) they will be getting my money ($5/month beats Rhapsody's $10). But it will come down to a comparison of those two services. I'd be afraid to go premium on Spotify for fear of bugs and major issues. Take it from me, there are better subscription services out there MOG and Rhapsody specifically.
Disgusted.
Well it is settled. I need something that works intuitively with a great user inteface. I joined MOG a couple of days ago at 4.99/month. And the more I play with it, the more I love it. Suffice it to say, it is "album" oriented. You'll know what I mean when you try it (which is free). But it is very cool. Let's just say no more amorphous ridiculously long random lists of songs some by artists you didn't even ask for. AND IT WORKS!!
I suggest you try it.
