I'm on Windows 10, Spotify 1.0.52.725.g43b26a8, not that either of those should make a difference, as I don't think the problem is with the desktop program.
I don't know how Spotify decides which songs to show in my daily mix, but whatever the method is, it ignores my Removes and resets my Favorites.
1) I will often see a song again after I've clicked Remove and Don't play this song. This seems to happen with bands where I listen to a good number of their other tunes. Occasionally, it will also happen with deleting artists that I've liked in other mixes/playlists, etc. This happens in mixes I use rarely as well as mixes I use daily. Most annoyingly, it's inconsistent behaviour, because I've accidentally removed artists I like, and now I can't put them back into my daily mix.
2) I've noticed that if I go to a daily mix I haven't played in a while, my Favorites will be unset. The songs will still be in my music, but the little heart on the song will be missing. I assume this is either some sort of workaround for the fact that you can't actually change your mind in Spotify, or that it's some misguided attempt by Spotify to introduce variety into Daily Mixes.
Look, Spotify, your Daily Mix is what your Radio should be, and that's how I use it. I like getting new songs, but if I've said I don't like it, don't make me have to alt tab from work to remove the same song for the fourth time in an hour. If you want me to have the option to undo a remove, then make it a properly separate feature.
As for resetting my Favorites in a mix, that should just not be a thing Spotify ever does.
PS: I know the following doesn't add anything to this topic, but due to these problems, the only reason I'm even a customer anymore is that I've used Spotify for so long. Genuinely considering looking for a different service at this point. I know a $10 loss isn't much to you, but come on...
I would really love to switch services but everything else sucks just as much, and Spotify, with all its garbagely designed features is still the best.
I really wish there was better.
Is there anything being done about this?
Here I am disliking this song.
Here it is back, a few 'pages' later.
Same problems. With the iOS and macOS app too. It's really frustrating.
I too find the ability of daily mix to disremember my preferences very anoying.
Other things
I have to play a track before I can remove it? What is that useful for? I want to skim ahead and remove the odd bit of dross.
I cannot remove an album? Only an artist or song? Everyone makes a clanger now and again but you still like their other stuff?
C'mon Spoti, you can be better.
I have the same issue, This must be a bug, Come on spotify lets have this fixed!
