OK, I get that they want to start you out with "something" when you first install Spotify, but I wonder whether those in charge have thought about giving the user a choice. Could be a genre or an artist. When I first signed up, it wasn't all that difficult to start over. You could do a clean install, the startion was stored on your PC, rather than the Spotify servers like it is now.
I was disappointed when I got some popular <I assume> hip hop artist.
So it's not paranoia... more and more people have had the same bad experience. That hedious Eminem radio station wasn't there by mere accident or my fault, and probably neither it was yours Craigiyama.
Who told Spotify that I wanted to listen to that sort of music and that "singer". I hate the music and I don't like, euphemism, him. How come they think they have the right to do so, specially if you're paying for the account.
I'm out of words.
for a brief moment today after upgrading to version 9.8.238.....i was able to delete radios stations. when i hovered over a station a white "X" appeared and i could delete them. when i went back to it a half hour later it was gone.
I went to the web player and hovered over the station. An ... elipsis appeared in the upper right corner which, when clicked, provided a typical dropdown of options. Ooops, its not typical because, surprise, THERE IS NO STINKING DELETE BUTTON!!!!!
it was a delete buttoin for me. but its not there anymore. it seems like its finally on the way.
The good news is, this appears to be on it's way! @MattSuda one of the community Rock Stars posted a picture of it over on the Ideas topic:

wwwwwwwwwwwwwooooooooooowwwwwwwwwwwww, so new at Spotify, and checking it out after creating a profile i am stuck with a radio station, death Metal (because I saw it on the side somewhere) somthing I listen too in my early teen years just out of curiosity and frankly just trying to get an idea of your confusing website and excessive functions, figuring out the difference between things, just so all my friends on Facebook I have followed can think I am a dark metal head!!! wwwoooowwww you f***s are brilint! Thanks, I thought you were a best resort to itunes!!!! i think ill go back since you don’t listen to everyone else that has asked this question, such a simple request!! Wow
Confirmed, deleting a Radio Station is now working in the desktop version 0.9.8.238. If you install an older version, from Filehorse or Filehippo, for example, and let it update, you've got a pretty good chance of getting the latest version. If you use the full installer link, it should point to a file that is 35.8 MB. As of March 8th it still points to 0.9.7.16. I've saved the new install file. 😉
The bad news, still no filtering on artist pages, still no album support in playlists.

"...created stations don't remain on your account forever. New ones will push the older ones out, so you'll have a maximum of 20 at any one time."
This solves my problem. I couldn't stand seeing the picture of a wannabe punk staring at me. There's plenty of good lookin' girl singers I can use to push his ugly mug off my screen.
Thanks Richard
Rollo,
Tried both the link you gave and a full download. Still getting 0.9.7 rather than the 0.9.8 you claim allows deletions. And, of course, the Spotify app doesn't have an "get latest version" or "update" in its help menu item.

What Peter said. I said in my post that the full installer link still points to the 0.9.7 version right now. It will change eventually, be patient.
Sorry but that makes no sense. I think this should be top of the list of fixes.

This is ridiculous. I can't imagine how anyone could create a web site with no way to remove one of your personal preferences. Completely unimaginable. I'm going back to using Pandora.

Hey! Welcome to the community 🙂
There is currently no way to delete Radio stations, bit of a pain I know!

One thing you can do is if you accidentally added, say, a Kanye West station to a shelf of metal stations, add a variety of genres you like that no one else knows you like.
Spotify gets a lot of press attention but to me it doesn't seem the least bit user friendly... I have no idea how Eminem got on my stations list and there's no way I want it. To not have an ability to remove it is inexcusable. To have MESSAGE BOARDS begin with the OLDEST posts seems to be another weird way to go..... Also searching for specific songs, etc. seems to produce all kinds of unnecessary results with no way to narrow them down such as alphabetizing or any other alternates. I'm another one who's tried Spotify but will return quickly and permanently to Pandora .
yeah..that's a solution. So is replacing your car's engine when you blow a tire...
Well, if the % of users using the radio feature is so little, why don't we get get rid of the radio feature for good??
I mean, how stupid can a product management approach be?? "Let's include this feature, but don't put any thought in it and let's offer this feature in low quality, because nobody is going to make use of it anyway..." PARDON ME???????
Must be the biggest pile of BS that I ever had to hear..
P.S.: For the record - not being able to delete unwanted radio stations only shows that Spotify gives a f*** about its customers or being anything like customer friendly..
