[Desktop] Add multiple selection in the queue of the desktop app

Solved!

[Desktop] Add multiple selection in the queue of the desktop app

Hello,

In the mobile app while in the queue menu you have the option to select multiple songs, which makes it really simple to take some of them out at once. Like this:

This is specially helpful for people like me that use the Radio feature and don't necessarily like all the songs in the playlist. Or when you play random in your liked songs but just don't feel like listening some of them (which saves a lot of time since you don't have to create playlists or add songs individually).

Nevertheless, this isn't possible in the desktop app, where you have to take the songs you don't want to listen out one by one, which is quite annoying. I usually end up going to my phone to modify the queue, but it would be much more comfortable if I could do it directly from the pc, given that is the device I use the most to play music.

In brief, I hope you could replicate this function for desktop users.

Hey there @malvavisc0,

Thanks for reaching out here in the Community!

We moved your post from Ideas to the help boards as it's already possible to select multiple songs and delete them from the queue while using the desktop app.

In order to do this, just make sure to follow these steps:

  • In the queue, hold the Control key and select each song that you'd like to remove.
  • Press the right click on them and select "Remove from queue".

Hope this helps. If anything else comes up, the Community will be here.

Cheers!

how do i select all the songs in queue in the desktop app please help I've been trying to find out how cant get it anywhere
the control key function isn't working some people say its control+A but that doesn't work either i want to know so it'll be easier to add songs to my playlists please help me out

Hey @sak_0514,

Thank you for joining the conversation.

You can multi-select songs in your queue on the desktop app by clicking one of the songs you want to select, holding the "Shift" key and hitting the arrow down or arrow up on your keyboard.

In case you want to select all the songs in the queue, click in the first one and use the command "CTRL + A". This should select all the tracks in the queue. After selected, you can also drag them around in case you want to add them to a playlist.

Also, you can select different songs in the queue by holding the CTRL key and clicking the song you want to add to the selection.

Lastly, to see the whole list of shortcuts, open the desktop app, and use the command "CTRL + /". This will display a list of all the available shortcuts within the app.

Hope this helps. If you have any additional questions, don't hesitate to ask.

Hello, i've tried the Ctrl command on desktop spotify and it worked fine, but for some reason the same command does not work properly on the web browser spotify, can you help me please ?

Hey @Badis_G,

Selecting multiple items isn't currently possible on the Web Player, but if you'd like to see this feature added it's worth sharing your suggestions on our Idea Exchange board: others can then share their feedback and show their support by giving it a thumbs up so it has a better chance of being considered. When an idea reaches the required amount of upvotes it is sent to our internal teams for review. More info on on the Idea Exchange board here.

The Community is always here if there's anything else you need assistance with.

Cheers!
