Desktop App not working unless logged in with temp password

I have my Spotify account linked to Facebook and typically use that to login. For some reason my desktop app (windows) is saying there is no internet connection when I select Login with Facebook. However, when I receive a text with a password and login with my email and that, it works just fine but only appears to be in like 2-4 hour increments. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app and nothing changed. The app on my phone and the web player work just fine using login with Facebook.
