My Question or Issue

Whenever I update Spotify desktop application, the updated Spotify desktop will reset my account Shuffle & Repeat setting, and I have to manually adjust it, causing inconvenience. Note that this happens to all the update performed since 3 months ago.

I have attempted to do a clean install but it doesn't work.

Pre-condition: Spotify desktop client must have an update.

Step to reproduce:

1. Click on the drop down button beside the profile on top right corner of the main window.

2. Click on Update and Restart (not exact wording)

3. Let update run automatically on the background.

4. Open the Spotify desktop app

5. Check the Shuffle and Repeat setting.

Expected: Shuffle and Repeat setting should be same as before update.

Actual: Shuffle and repeat is set to off. (Suspected this is the default setting).

Hey folks,

Thanks for reporting this to us.

First, we'd recommend trying a clean reinstall of the app on your device by following the steps here.

If after that you’re still experiencing the issue, could you provide us with the following info:

  • device + OS version
  • exact Spotify version

Once we've gathered enough info, we will pass it on to the relevant team, who will look further into it.

Thanks!

Hey everyone,

Thanks for reporting this to us!

Since we haven't received any other contacts or reports after we asked for more info, we're now moving this thread to the Help Boards.

Let us know if more of you are experiencing this. Feel free to give us all the details we've asked about previously, if you need help with that.

We'll be on the lookout for your replies 🙂
