My Question or Issue

Earlier in the day, I used the Windows standalone desktop app for the first time in quite a while and I was suggested an update, which I installed.

Throughout the day I was able to use the service on the desktop app without any problems. I then shutdown the computer and went home. After I started the computer and the Spotify desktop app I was presented with the message on the top:

"No internet connection detected. Spotify will automatically try to reconnect when it detects an internet connection (error code: 4)"

I already tried different proxy settings on the app (no proxy and auto) and I have no problem using the Android app or http://open.spotify.com

I also tried changing DNS servers on my computer, checked if it was necessary to remove %appdata% folders between installs, nothing works.

Is there any widespread problem? What can be causing this problem?

Thanks

Hi there @m0rbidini,

thanks for reaching out !

I would like to ask the following :

- Does this happen across all devices on that same connection ?

- Have you tried your device on a different network connection ?

- Have you tried a clean reinstall following these steps ?

In the meanwhile, this post holds a nice amount of solution to the error 4 issue.

Keep me posted 🙂
