Desktop app on windows 11 and "most current version" window sizing issues

My spotify has the issue where the bottom part of the player is behind the task bar, preventing me from skipping through the song at all. Zooming in or out does not fix this at all, and this specific issue i have seen posts dating back to 2018 complaining about this exact thing. on one post it has been stated that this issue was fixed in the latest release, however not only can i not update my app from the app itself, downloading the "most recent" version from spotify isnt even an update, it just tells me its already installed and when i open it the app version is the same. ive tried legacy versions and uninstalled like 6 times and the problem persists.

Hey @shugen!

Could you please reply with a screenshot of what you're seeing, give me your Spotify version, and if you've downloaded the EXE from the Spotify Website, or the UWP from the Microsoft Store?

In the meantime, I have some steps you can try:

With Spotify open, please right-click on the taskbar and click 'Taskbar settings.'

Under 'Taskbar behaviors,' please toggle the 'Automatically hide the taskbar on and off. That should make the Spotify window resize.

Please try the above steps with Spotifty open and closed. When you close Spotify, make sure you fully close it by navigating to the Spotify navigation menu, File > Exit.

Have you tried a Clean Reinstall?

Also, does this only happen with the Spotify window, or are other windows affected by it?

Same issue here, I have the "close button should minimize the Spotify window" button turned on, and opening Spotify from my taskbar or icon tray on Windows 11 has worked fine until a few days ago. Now the only time either works is by exiting/completely closing Spotify and opening it again. I've already uninstalled and reinstalled. it worked fine for a moment after reinstalling, but went back to not working after ~30 mins
