My Question or Issue

Getting error code:4 ; no internet connection detected when online. 

-Tried changing the DNS 

- Spotify is not on any of my firewall lists. It is on the unrestricted  list.

- Spotify is on my exception list for my anti virus

-I have tried to change the proxy settings. But I am not using a proxy nor have i ever.

- Lastly, i have tried to reinstall spotify.

I haven't had this problem since i first got spotify in 2012 or so. It only started happening a couple days ago. I tried changing the DNS server and that worked only temporarily (for a day or two). Now it is back to error code:4. I tried to change the DNS server again, but this time it didn't work. Reset computer multiple times. Spotify works fine on my phone.

thanks for reaching out to the community !

 

Let's try a few more things :

- Please disable your firewall/anti-virus/win defender and try running the app again

- Unplug your modem/router for a full minute and try again

 

After these two, please try downloading, installing and using the Spotify Microsoft version to see if it behaves differently.

Resetting the router fixed it for now.
