Alright, so... It seems that this is something that's been going on for a while now. But I just noticed this. I've been trying to find the spotify.exe location. It use to be \AppData\Roaming\Spotify\Spotify.exe. But now its hidden since it is now a windows store file. The main reason I ask is because I've made shortcuts on my desktop using Rainmeter (very nice btw) so it's easier instead of searching. One of the shortcuts is for Spotify but there literally is no file location. Would show you where it was grayed out but can't find it again. Just trying to find the standard desktop version to make things easier. Thanks

Windows 10
Hey @robsrans,
Rainmeter is a great app for applying costum skins to your desktop, making it unique!
I suggest to drag the Spotify app icon from the start Menu to the desktop or just right click on it to open it's file location and use that as a shorcut.
Try that and tell me how it goes.
Have a nice day 🙂
I tried doing that, but open location is grayed out. Tried using the shortcut location as a path to Spotify on the launcher for Rainmeter, still nothing sadly. But thanks for the try.
Hey @robsrans,
I didn't mean that. Try to open the file location right within the Start Menu and it should take you to the folder where all start menu apps shortcuts are. Then you could use that as a shortcut.
Hope it helps 🙂
That way still showed file locations wasn't an option.
That shows just the shortcut and what I use on Rainmeter wants the actual location of the .exe. If it could use shortcuts that would've done the job. But I thank you for the help. (I guess its a solution?)
If you just download the normal version (non windows store).

hope this helps!
I was trying those this morning, it would still turn into the windows store version (says it is in start menu). Only thing I can find a location for is the storing offline songs. Searched through each folder in appdata and found nothing yet.
Okay, so I think now there isn't an .exe available anymore. Tried downloading an older version like 1.0.68 and it still said it is the most current one.
