My Question or Issue

Here's a strange one.

I've been using Spotify desktop client on Windows 10 playing on Google Home Mini for many months.  No issues.  Then recently, maybe couple weeks ago, it stopped detecting my Google Home.

I tried connecting on my iPhone and another Windows 10 machine, and they both still work.  So the Google Home is on the same network still.

Tried reinstalling the client, no change.

Suggestions?

Thanks!

Hi @tom526,

Welcome to the Community and thank you for reaching out!

What you mention is odd, but there are some things we can do to help you sort it out.

We understand you've already reinstalled the app. Please do it one more time following these specific steps, which will ensure your PC is free of leftover files or damaged cache.

If the issue persists after this, try disabling your Firewall, restart the Spotify app and check again if you're able to see your Google Home.

Let us know how this goes.

Thank you so much!  The firewall was the issue!

I use Avast Antivirus, and I told it to trust my LAN connection.  Now it works!

On another note, the link you posted for "...these specific steps" the directions aren't totally accurate anymore for Windows 10.  Apps & features are not in System anymore.  Just Apps in Settings.

Thanks again!
