Here's how to fix the - "NaN instead of 0:00" and songs not playing - problem!

Here's how to fix the - "NaN instead of 0:00" and songs not playing - problem!

[NOTE: THIS IS A WINDOWS 10 FIX, TRYING FIX THIS ON AN OLDER VERSION MAY CAUSE PROBLEMS, TEST AT YOUR OWN RISK]

(My windows 10 currently is Italian based so I'm just guessing all the text based on my English level, but don't worry, just pay enough attention and you will understand where to click).

To fix this issue you need admin rights and Note Pad++

Before doing anything, close Spotify.

Open the "Your pc" folder > Windows > System32 > drivers > etc

Right click on the file called "Host" and go into properties

Now click the "Security" tab in the upper side of the properties window, select the first Line in the upper box and click "Edit" / "Modify" and a new window should appear. In this new window you will simply have to select one of the icons in the upper box and check all the below options in the agree square, repeat the process with all the icons in the upper box and then apply.

Now open Note Pad++ with admin rights, once you did just click on "File" in the top left corner and open the before mentioned "host" file.

After opening it, click on "Edit" (next to "File") and click the last option (something like "clean only reading flag").

Now just go at the bottom and you'll find something life:
0.0.0.0 randomsite(.)randomsite(.)net

and eventually find some lines with "Spotify" in them, remove them, don't leave any blank line in between the other lines.

After you remove the Spotify lines, just go in "File" > "Save", this will open a saving window, if not there, go in the folder with the "Host" file, when you get there simply choose "All Files" instead of "Text Documents" next to the File Name box and save.

Finally, open Spotify and everything should be working!

Also this is my first forum post/thread so if there's something wrong with it just tell me and i'll figure out what to do.

Thanks for reading, have a good day!
